.What is Trauma- Sensitive Yoga/Trauma-Sensitive Christ centered Yoga?
Trauma - Sensitive Yoga/Trauma - Sensitive Christ centered Yoga is not counseling, but instead a creative avenue for facilitating an alternate mode of healing for survivors of trauma. It provides a space for clients to explore their bodies and gain awareness into how their trauma may have impacted their bodies. Students may also develop a greater resilience for the future stress and trauma as they become well-versed in healthy coping that fits their bodies.
The purpose of this practice is to help survivors of trauma reconnect to their breath, body and emotions in a safe and non-judgmental environment. Students are taught how the breath, mindfulness and moment can impact their healing journey. It is a holistic experience where students learn to master listening to and connecting safely with all parts of the self.
What is the difference be tween Trauma - Sensitive Yoga (TSY) & Trauma - Sensitive Christ centered Yoga (TSCCY)?
In teaching, the difference between Trauma - Sensitive Yoga and Trauma - Sensitive Christ centered Yoga is that in Christ centered Yoga there is added teaching and meditation from Bible scriptures, along with the addition of worship, music and prayer. In private sessions you decide what kind you would like to practice. If signing up for a class, if it has Christ centered Yoga somewhere in the title or description, it will have the scriptures from Bible, worship and/or prayer part of it. If it does not have Christ centered Yoga in the title, it will not.
What trauma - sensitive services do you offer?
Private Sessions - These are typically about an hour long session in which Andrea leads you through a personalized session. Everyone's needs are different, so Andrea takes the time to learn about the needs of the client to focus on supporting where is most needed. Along with yoga Andrea also has experience with: breath coaching, mindfulness coaching, somatics, trauma recovery, energy healing and yoga nidra/deep rest meditation.
If desired by the client, Andrea will also work with client's therapist (paperwork must be done between client and their therapist before Andrea can discuss anything with therapist). These sessions can be in person or online over zoom.
Group Classes - Each week there are Trauma-Sensitive Yoga or Trauma-Sensitive Christ centered Yoga classes offered online or in person at Roselle studio.
Workshops & Retreats - Every so often we hold workshops and retreats. There will be a learning portion and a practicing portion. Stay tuned to website or get onto our email list to keep up to date on when these are scheduled.
On-Demand Studio - The online studio is Trauma - Sensitive Christ centered Yoga focused. It is on demand videos of meditations, breath work, mindfulness practice and Trauma-Sensitive Christ centered Yoga class practices.
How much does this cost?
Private Sessions are $85 for a single hour session or $75 a session when you buy a four session punch card.
Group Classes are $13 a single drop in class or $11.25 a class when you buy a four class punch card.
Workshops - The price will vary depending on the length of class, topic and supplies needed.
Where do I start?
I do recommend starting with private sessions, it is the most personalized way to experience the growth and healing of Trauma Sensitive Yoga/Trauma Sensitive Christ centered Yoga. But you need to make the best decision for you.

First one is mindfulness and breathing with the option to use essential oils (you don't have to use oils if you are not an oil person).
